How Many Vents Will My House Need?

The U.S. Federal Housing authority recommends a minimum of at least 1 square foot of attic ventilation for every 300 square feet of attic floor space evenly split between intake and exhaust.

Use the calculator below to find out how many exhaust and intake vents you will need on your house.

How to Measure My Attic Floor Space?

If your house is rectangular, great. All you need to measure is the length and width of your house and enter them into the Vent Calculator below. It will do the rest for you.

If you house is something other than a rectangle, you will need to calculate the area (length x width) of the individual sections of your house; then add those all together and enter the total into the Area box of the Vent Calculator below.
